how to catch a lobster/moral question

this is a 2 part question

part 1 how do i catch a purple reef lobster with out taring down the rocks?

part 2 this guy is in my gf thingers 55 gallon tank. she had a tank crash due to a nem death.we have since been struggling to keep things alive.i feel now its the lobster doing the killing/eating, its the only thing i could think of besides 2 small coral banded shrimp ( about 3/4 in each).he is now the longest living member in the tank. i keep telling her hes doing the killing but she doesnt want to give him up because hes the only thing thats really left from before the crash.she doesnt think its him. my question is should i sneak him out or let him end up being the sole occupant of the 55 gallon tank even though he always hides? i could blame it on her "killer tank" and i think the problems would magically go away . ( her params are 0 amonia 0 trites 0 trates as per lfs )

 

Lobsters are known, like nearly any crustacean, to have at least a chance of killing just about anything they can grab.

 

If they can catch it they will eat it.

 

I think this boils down to how serious you are with this girl. Technically you are doing it for her so she shouldn't get mad, however u know how it goes.
If you sneak it and get caught how terrible would the consequences be? It's risky business here lol

 

yeah thats y i think its the one doing the killing ... he was bought before i found 3 reef and before i knew better. the questionn is should i remove it and just play dumb and let her think it died? she wont let me remove it. and how do i go abouts catching it ...we have had him for more then 2 years

 

well you could always show her the facts..( you could find some articles)
and prove to her that it is him.
OR. you could get a tank just for him, idk how big a tank should be for a lobster but maybe a 29G? im not sure. and that way she is happy, and you can add more stuff to the tank.;D

I've been with my lady for 14 or so years. We have a frog in a tank. Any fish we put in there is doomed to eventually being eaten alive by this frog. I so desperately want rid of it.

But it is hers and she wants to keep it. What I want to do with it isn't relevant. End of story. 8)

 

I'd disagree with that. I think you're wanting to get rid of this for yourself. If it was for her, you'd have dropped the idea of getting rid of it when she expressed that is the opposite of what she wants to do.

There are alternate solutions.
