That turned out great. Cutting curves in the plate will be even better. Nice work.

Love the idea! I am considering integrating the use of the mortar mix soon for my own project.

Was the Emaco 400 easily attainable from Home Depot or Lowes?

Just wondering what the availability and cost ran you for both it and the Acryl 60.

    regards,

Looks good, but I have one question. How do you plan on cleaning algae off of the bottom? Wouldn't the sand get rubbed off eventually?

The sand will get rubbed off (at least some of it will) if you "clean it," but you shouldn't need to. I anticipate that it will get covered in coralline algae.

Emaco ain't easy to get. I had to order it and it was expensive to ship. The Acryl 60 was like $12 for a 1 quart bottle, if I remember correctly.

I did some local research and fortunately I can get some by having a local Allied Building Products facility special order it for me - I was quoted about 49.95 for the mortar mix + freight (which he was not able to tell me how much that was when i called). At least I can get my hands on some if I need it.

I am very inspired by your build - everything has been top-notch - cant wait to see the rock scape!

You'll probably end up doing better than me on price. Mine got shipped to my house and was more than $100 all-in - OUCH!
