Mine end up around 30 inches tall

this means they are ideal when viewed from a seated position, but you need to crouch when you approach the tank to look inside

the solution for me, was to move my arm chair closer to the tank LOL

mine used to be about 27" (i think) was barely enough room to fit the skimmer under, and couldnt even try to empty it.
built a new one that ended up 39" tall. seems a good height for next to dining table, but think i'll need at least a 24" high tank to keep things in perspective.
room for a better skimmer and then some now tho :)

My current stand is 30" with a standard 90g tank. My new stand is 36" tall but I wanted it taller because the tank is only 12" tall.

I usually put my tanks in locations where you are walking up to them so i make my stands higher. My last one was 40"

38.75" (started with 38" frame then adder top 3/4" shelve--wanted total coverage)

I tried to factor the height of the tank, going with taller rather than shorter. I didn't want the above tank equipment (lights, plumbing, etc) easily noticed by looking over hood.
