I have been topping my tank off every 3-5 days, its 2 gallons with a lid and HOB refugium. I am noticing my salinity is going up about .003 points every 3-5 days, is this normal? I am topping off with fresh water, what could be causing this aside from evaporation? which is minimal in my tank

When water goes down its normal for the salinity level to go up I have to add 2 1/2 gallons every two days for me this is normal routine

For me it depends on the humidity levels in the home.
Right now for example, one of my systems, a 90 and 40 with 20g sump need 8 litres a day top up so I try to do 4L in the morning and 4 more at night.

Everyday I have a float valve hooked to a 5 gal container it auto fills constantly as the water level drops

IMO it would be best to have an ato to keep salinity stable, If you have/get sps they can be sensitive to stuff other things couldn't care that much about

A ATo on a 2 gallon tank not plausible. Ya on a 55 or so if you have room I would say go for it.

That might be correct, it may be possible but not worth it.

I misread the first sentence. I thought the top off was 2g not the tank.
