I change 5 gallons / week in my 180 (trying something new), and so far everything is doing great. I dont think the percentages really matter, because everyones setup will be different, I personally believe stability is the key.

Honestly I havent changed water in about 2 months. With how little I feed and how much macroalgae I have in there the Nitrates and phosphates are never detectable. As soon as I see them show up again I'll change some water out, but as of right now I add trace vitamins and elements and just change charcoal and phoszorb like usual and add RO/DI water alongside the usual minerals and everything is really happy. My corals are growing like mad and I have no nuisance algae. I figure some people might freak seeing how little I change water, but if my corals are any indicator, I'm not doing anything that isn't working.

I do a 20 gallon water change on my 90 once a month, and I never do water changes on my 37 fish only.

Same here. I think it is because your params stay stable and your levels don't change as often.
