I wouldn't trust a tank from glasscages even if it DID have the trim. lol

Maybe as a nice terrarium, but not aquarium.

I would say that on a smaller tank (2.5-10g) that it probably wouldn't make much diffrence, as the adhesive on the tank would likely hold it together just fine against the pressure. Any bigger than 10g, I would say that the risk of bowing and possible breakage becomes much greater as the water pressure in the tank increases.

Will it create a problem if you reseal the tank with more silicone?

I have to agree with Phil (on this post, I don't agree with his perception of GC though ;) ).

Have you guys seen how much a 40g breeder bows out when full on a a factory no center brace AGA/ aqueon 40B? Imagine if you compromised any of that outer lip? Now, I have seen several guys notch out a little for equipment but only from the inside.

How much do you need to trim out/ can you post a pic?

I don't think he needs to open a new thread. The tank happens to be a GC tank, and IMHO everyone is behaving.

Post a pic here of what you want to remove and we can hopefully help you out.

Thanks guys. The tank is not a GC tank. I bought it at the LCD and I beleve it is a top fin (will lok when I get home). The bracket it just a piece of plAstic that slips over the edge and holds a bulkhead. The trim is too thick and I beleive t would still be too thick if I trimmed it. I will try and get a picture up in the next day or so if anyone needs it. I have pretty much resigned to leave it as is and find another way. Thanks!!!
