Just wondering what the consensus is on how many fish you add to your tank at once.

    One, two, three, four?

What is recommended and what should always be avoided?

Depends on the age of your tank and the size of the fish. If it is new then I would put 1 every few weeks in. If it is older you can get away with few at a time as long as they aren't huge.

There are alot of variants to adding fish.

Size, Tank Size, Tanks Maturity, etc..

New tanks probably 1 fish ever few weeks. Older tanks can do more.

If its a larger system and You plan on adding multiple tangs or angels etc.. Its best to do them at the same time to cause less stress. Or per say Unmated Pairs are another example when you want to add pairs of fish together that arent mated.

1 small/med fish per week on a larger tank thats been up for a while.

newer tank under 50g 1 small/med fish every 2-3 weeks.. my guess.

use best judgement.. and always add the most agressive fish last.
