I know that for Powerheads, to "clean" them off, you soak in vinegar, but for how long? also will that get rid of bits of nem? :-X

the vinegar should soften everything up including any coraline that is on the PH. Soaking for 30-1hr should be good I leave mine over night

I wasn't sure if the vinegar actually clears all the algae, or if you have to brush it off. Thanks!

If its really bad a rinsing or brushing or both helps but it will do it on its own with time. Make sure if you are going to soak in straight vinegar for more than a few hours you remove any rubber pieces like O rings, shaft end cups, bumpers and suction cups as vinegar will attack the rubber over timw and make it brittle.
