How long can pre made "Saltwater" sit?

    Yeah, but sometimes its a pain to get it just right. You have to add, mix, measure and repeat. But I guess it would make it easier if you just filled it back up to where it was before evaporation. But I get salt creep on some of the return tubing and other equipment, so this method doesn't always work.:( You might be getting more salt creep due to the airstone too. Lots of the salt will end up drying up on the canopy. When I first start SW I used freshwater equipment that i had laying around and the air stone caused crazy salt creep.

    Hmmm could I keep the airstone off until I need the water? Let's say I need to make a change in 4 hrs. So I turn the air stone on 4 hrs from when I need it.

    Problem solved =]. Yeah if you left the airstone on all the time, a week later, all the salt would have been crusted onto the lid. lol. 4 hours is plenty =].
