    ok with trop storm isac on its way. they are putting its path right in my line.

    how long can a tank go with no filtering and how can i keep the tank going with no power.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    I suggest you look into a generator, battery operated air pump.
    I would make up some fresh SW while you have the opportunity.

    all depends on size of system, bioload, and shape of the aquarium. Generally, my rule of thumb is that you want to get some kind of back-up filtration running on a system within 5hrs.
