I recently bought this reef setup that came with lights.
They are mounted in the canopy. I am trying to figure out how good this setup is or if i need to upgrade.
My 90gal setup is going to be sps dominated, so suggest me something that will keep those corals happy.

This is the current light setup:
6 x 54W T5 retrofit lighting kit from Sunlight Supply. Upgraded to IceCap SLR reflectors.

These are connected to 3 Accustart Electronic Ballast

How good are these lights? I was thinking about upgrading to 6 or 8 x54w ATI Sumpower. Would it be a big difference? should i upgrade? I dont want to be stuck with only keeping sps near the top, most of them will be mounted near the top-center of the tank.

Would really appreciate any help on this, im trying to get the tank going. :)

    Thanks.

Those lights will be sufficient. I run 4x54w and I run a SPS dominated tank. A lot has to do with the type of bulbs you choose. I recommend at least 3 Blue Plus ATI bulbs as they have the highest PAR rating and good spectrum for SPS

I have a 4X54W on my 75 and it works very well. A 6X54W will work very well for your needs. If you don't think it will just get a 2X54W retro to get to eight.

The 6x54watts are way better, In my perspective i'll used the 6x54watts.

6x54w should grow anything in a 75g. Decent ballasts, decent reflectors....the only thing you didn't mention is bulb brands. ATI is leading the way for highest useable light output. I would suggest getting name brand bulbs like ATI, KZ, or Geissmann if your fixture doesn't already have them.
