We all should know the importance of oxygen in your aquarium water, but....

I suppose my skimmer. But I also have an open top to keep the cool factor up.

    Good one Matt,

    1. I am thinking this is fairly obvious, Power heads. We have a Hydor Koralia 4 and a Seio 820GPH on opposite sides of the tank this coupled with the returns oxygenates the water to some extent.

    2. Also, protein skimmers oxygenate the water, to varying degrees, dependent upon the power of the power head.

I also think the skimmer produces enough oxygen. In my case, I also have an open top and my return line has a pvc elbow that has a small hole where it shoots a strong spary of water that hits the water in the over flow chamber producing alot of bubbles.

Through the efforts of my skimmer, open top, photosynthesis produced through my plant life as well as the position of my powerhead creating a turbulence across the air/water surface interface at the top of my tank-this affords me of proper dissolved oxygen for the most part!
