Maybe while your shopping you could check out window fans or a small window a/c unit,if Mom would go for it,and cool your room, would lower tank temp and be better for you.

LOL. You could try moving to the east coast. It's 31 degrees and snowing here. What I do to keep my tank cool is what everyone here already said get some fans and have them blow across your tank. I hope you get the temp down.

hahaha thats why i want to move to CO, im in shorts and a tank top right now

i may have to buy a couple of fans, i think the fish in my nano are taking the heat hard their like not really swimming and staying in one place which is very unusuall especially for my puffer

AC is now off but im keeping the windows and blinds closed with ceiling fan on and so far the room itself is cooler

to expand on the water bottle option, i use 2-liter bottles of ice in the sump when it gets really warm here ( warm here is low 90's). the 2-liters work alot better for me, than water bottles. one in the sump and one in the freezer so i always have one avail.

good night, 85 sucks. see if the ac has dampers which can control the flow to different rooms. or close off some of the vents down stairs and open yours wide open.

get a big ziploc bag fill with ice, add some water and seal it. drop in the tank.

you could also slap some window film on the windows if you have direct sun cooking things in there.
