Im having heat issues with my tank, it's 85 up in my room and tank reads 83 i worry about things heating up and frying. I had a fight about my mom just now that the AC needs to be turned on, even if its just for a couple hours. She's complaining about the electric bill being high so using AC really wont be an option

How do you cool down your tank? i would love a chiller but dont know if thats possible with my setup, their also expensive, but i always see chillers up for sale on my local craigslist.

Are there any HOB fans that you would suggest me to get, i know evaporation is a problem with them but id rather have evaporation than a fried tank

I can't remember if you have a lid on your tank. If you do then take it off to promote evaporation. Evaporation requires the water to give up heat energy so it cools the tank.

Second a fan blowing across the surface of the tank or sump will also help considerably. Should be able to drop your temp by 3-5 degrees.

All you really need is a couple clip on fans from WalMart or Target.

You could try freezing water in a water bottle and floating that in the tank.

Any small fan should work,it doesn't have to be attached to the tank.Just aim it to direct air flow across the top of your tank.

Ugh! I would be sick if my room was 85 degrees. lol As soon as it's 72 outside my air conditioning kicks on. Ahhhhh...... I hate the heat!

You could do two water bottles.
