How do you bring your KH down?

    Your salinity is low...bring it up to 1.024 - 1.025 slowly
    Check your magnesium it should be around 1250-1350ppm
    Your Ca is fine
    IMO low Kh readings come from high notrate readings
    So If i were you do like 2 water changes a week of 10% and bring up the salinty to 1.025 and
    check your magnesium level as it can play whack with your Kh and Ca

    i use sea chem ph buffer and grow macro algae
    how deep is your sand bed and what kind of sand do you use

    i don't think im going to be setting some water outside with air pump, not that im lazy, its just its snowing, and its Fing cold. will do tomorrow mid day.

    its almost 2 inches it has live sand and a bag of crushed coral.

    make sure your water temp is the same as the tanks when doing a water change

    yes i used some warm water, it was as close as it would ever get.

    I let my water sit in a bucket with a power head for at least 2hrs so it adjusts to the "room" temprature, then I have an old mercury thermometer and get it within 5 degress of the tank before I do the water change
