    Hello 3reefers

Just picked up some awesome rock today... I'm going to go about "nuking it" since I'm wanting to avoid any cycle when I put it in my tank.

I'm going to be ordering a good amount of base rock, and then creating a new aquascape for a 75g that I'm in the process of setting up.

I have several smaller pieces that I'm going to want to glue, or cement together, as well as to other larger pieces of rock. Any suggestions as to what to use? I like the idea of white masonry cement for some idea.

Any experience / tips / pointers would be appreciated. I'm going to be working with them dry, not underwater.

Some pics of the rock I picked up this weekend :)

Thanks man. Bump for anyone that knows anyway to glue smaller pieces together! I'm hesitant to use epoxy's. It's hard to know what can safely be put in the water sometimes.

I'm not sure how large your rocks are, but in my 6 gal I used superglue gel to glue some tonga branches to make an arch. It lasted 2 years so far.

It has to be gel though. It binds pretty quickly.

I guess expoxy isn't so bad. I didn't realize there were epoxy products specifically for aquascaping.

That stuff is double the price of what you can get at any Lowes or Home Dept in the plumbing section, and is the same thing. The one at Lowes is made by Oatey, and comes in the same kind of tube as that stuff, at less than half the price. Incognito made a thread with a few different types of epoxy putty that are not "made for saltwater" but are considered safe: http://www.3reef.com/forums/general...intended-epoxies-per-manufacturer-102188.html

Plus, IME, the HD and Lowes stuff gets coralline on it better than (at least) the Red Sea version of the epoxy; months later, the spots I have of the Red Sea stuff is still pure white with no growth of anything on it, while the plumbing stuff takes only a week or two to show various growths.

    Thanks so much man.

Issue solved. I'm heading to Lowe's shortly to pick up some wood to finish a stand build. I'll get some epoxy too I suppose!

I use "Loctite Ultra Geel." Works great for me! :)
