I bought used, but it was a new wet side still sealed. I have had if for a little more than a month or so. Now it won't even stay on more than a couple of minutes.

Wet side spins freely. Took nozzle off and cleaned up. Repositioned the cords holds. Cleaned glass. Took out of Reef Crest and put in constant and turned it down. Can't talk to Eco Tech till Monday.

    Any suggestions?

You can get tech support in their Sponsor Section on ReefCentral.
They answer on the weekends every now and then.

You have it set to the correct glass thickness... Correct?

Try loosening the nut on the impeller assembly. My wet side would do the same thing after I cleaned it and overtightened that nut. It could also be a generation 1, which are were not as reliable as the generation 2 MP40s.

I posted on RC, they said call them Monday.

It is a Gen 2. I could loosen the nut a bit. Nothing to loose. How tight does it have to be?

Well I took it apart. Nothing wrong. Put the nut back on just with my fingers. Turned constant mode down to about 25%..... twists right off after a minute. I give up. I'll see what they say Monday I guess.

I just hand tightened it, it's hard to say how tight is right. Good luck with it.

So I got in touch with Eco Tech today. No resolution, but we are working on it. In the mean time I put my K4 back in to give some flow.

    OMG!

I can even begin to tell you the difference. A K4 is rated to 1200 GPH, a MP40 is 3000gph so not even the same catagory. But I only turn my MP40 50% up. But the flow it's self... I can't even tell you the difference. My whole tank FLOWS. With the K4, what I point it at will blow.... night and day. Can't say it is worht $400 to you, but WOW.
