Before you start adding this or that to raise your alk, make sure your Ca isn't too high. If it is, raising alk won't be an option without catastrophic results. Make sure your magnesium is at or about 1500 first.

Lower your phosphates with ferric oxide-based phosphate removing media like PhosBan as Adam said. Make sure you run it in a reaction chamber like the Two Little Fishes, or Precision Marine, or Kent's.

If your nitrates are high, it could be overfeeding--and water changes will get them down fast, but you must address the cause rather than the symptom. Getting some more live rock in the tank should help over the long run, but you really should find out WHY your nitrates are so high. How much live rock do you have presently?

dude ur alk is the same as natural seawater. it's spot on don't touch it. Raising your alk won't make things grow faster.

I lost a fish yesterday and the guys at the fish store were on the fence because of the alk and phosphate.
