How do I acclimate an anemone

    I've always had fish only tanks and with little succes until checking out this site.I now have the nicest setup ever in about 8 yrs I have an anemone now that came in with some LR from a friend which is diong ok , but now i want to bye some.

    Very slow drip acclimation. Since anemones are very sensitive to changes in water parameters, I'd shoot for around 2-3 hours.

    If you have an anemone that came on live rock, I would make sure that it is not aiptasia. As far as keeping an anemone, make sure you have proper lighting for it before you buy it. Anemones are fairly hard to keep healthy.
    Personally, I float the bag for 30mins before I slowly add tank water into the bag. I add about 1/4 cup every 15mins for 2 hours, then I grab it and put it in the tank. I try to put the foot on the rock to get it to attach right away. I don't like letting them tumble around the tank, they will end up on a pump or PH. Both my anemones footed to the rock this way, then just moved where they liked by themselves.
