How Did You End Up On 3reef Anyway?

I too like more answers to a question. I had accounts with ReefCentral, UltimateReef, 3Reef, SAReefkeeping, and maybe one or two others. My system was to post my questions to every forum at once. I did this for months. I was the king of cut-and-paste, and ALT-TAB.

After awhile became disenchanted with the other forums and just stuck with this one. The answers to questions are more honest. If you notice on other forums there's a bandwagon mentality. Once one person seemed to have a decent answer at post 3, there would appear 25 more responses in kind. They varied there words, but you could tell they were regurgitating the same thing as the 3rd person.

Here, people are OK disagreeing, do it with respect, and it fosters more answers. I like more answers.

 

My Uncle (Napoleon) He is shy his inglish no bery good so donut post much but is always here...LOL Sorry Uncle just kidding. He was my inspiration in starting a saltwater tank and helps me out alot. since we are across country from each other I get alot of answers here the people are awsome, honost, kind, helpful, and don't slam on each other like some of the other sites... Uncle sent me a link in 2005 been here since.

 

Almost exact same experience. Other forums were mean when I was clueless or would all follow the bandwagon as sparky mentions.

I love how the different skinning of cats techniques are all tolerated and debated here nicely. I've never seen so many people happily disagree. And further, if a strong argument is presented, I actually see people here change their mind!!! WOW.

 

Not sure I should answer this question but I am here for a place to share what I know. That is the short version.

Man, you hit the nail right on the head for me with this answer. That's what I started running into on a forum that I'll leave nameless. And how you describe 3reef seems extremely accurate. Good post!

 

Good a reason as any! I've only been here a short time, but these folks are great.

 

I too was "Googling" for something and 3reef came up. This was my first time in a reef-setting chat room/forum and am glad that I've stayed here. Great place to be and have made friends from all over the world. I give this place two thumbs up:grinthumbs:
