    Oh yeah. Brittle and serpent stars are a different family of echinoderm from the normal starfish. The normal starfish are all "stubby" and move slowly. The brittles and serpents can haul if they need to. They're the fastest-moving echinoderm by far.

    Unfortunately these are very hard to care for.

    Of the 20 or so that local reefers have bought for their tanks, only like 2-3 are alive yet. When they die, they wreak havoc on a system, even a 250g one like mine. My LPS were not happy for a few days until I did 2 20g water changes.

    Other people that have had them die in their tanks have had similar toxic issues after they die.

    Another thing about bristlestars is that the green ones are the ones that can snatch fish. Not only slow movers, but they will ambush sleeping fish at night.
