Most clownfish have specific anemones that they host. Bubble Tip Anemones aren't a natural host anemone for Percula clownfish, so unfortunately, the chances aren't great. Sometimes, however, they will take them as a replacement. People sometimes tape a picture of a clownfish hosting an anemone to the side of the tank and this actually works sometimes in a clownfish see clownfish do sort of event.

Really?! Weird. I wonder what odd sorts of things you can put pictures of other clowns doing to trick yours into doing... ;D:p

So the other day the anenome started pooping and the clownfish was interested and he went inside and rubbed on the anenome and my roommate said when he came home later that night he was sleeping inside him. So i think we have a succsess. But today he hasnt shown much interest in him.

    Picture Trick

Worked for me! GL!! IMO when a clown hosts an anemone they're pretty much there all day. He would not come out during the day unless you were feeding.

They will host in almost anything. I saw some the other day that were hosting hardcore wouldn't leave it alone in a toadstool and a torch coral. Surely a bubble is a better home.lol. I got a pair that came with the elegance they were hosting in and they hadn't shown much interest then they slowly going back to it now. Just give it time.

I couldn't get my ocellaris to host a BTA. I tried the picture trick but it didn't work for me. I introduced a tomato clown and after a month and a half started hosting in the BTA.

If your percula showed some interest your chances might be pretty good that he'll come back again.

I don't know about that... My clarkii didn't come out of his anemone for the first few weeks that he hosted it but now he swims all over the tank with the blue hippo that he's friends with. It's a 75gal so at times he's 3' or more from it.

I moved a sixline wrasse from my other tank to that one (making a total of the 3 fish) and at first when the sixline would go near his anemone he'd scare the sixline away and if he wasn't in the anemone at the time he'd dart across the tank back to it if the sixline got too close to it. Now he doesn't care who goes near it, including my hand.
