Had a phone conversation with the chief scientific officer at Red Sea Max in Israel. He thinks the problem with the micro bubbles is the skimmer is having to work too hard to get ? something out of the water and is producing too many bubbles some of which are escaping into tank. He recommended putting all foam ect back. ie putting tank back to original and leaving it all running. He said when the skimmer has removed what it should the bubbles will dissapear. What do you think..Does that sound like a reasonable explanation?

Not really to me. It needs break in time, sometimes that may be longer than usual. I still have micro bubbles that escape and go into my tank, I put a piece of carbon filter in the output and it helps a lot. You may have gotten someone in the mail room who said he was chief scientific engineer LOL:worried:

I read your other posts and I just have a quick question. What kind of supplements (if any) are you adding to your tank? I know I have added some before and they make my skimmer go nuts for days at a time. Just a thought.

Red sea buff I bet is the culprit. I would turn down flow if you can.
