    Hi all,
I am Peter from NY. I have kept fish for 20 years. The majority of the time I have kept African Cichlids. I just find their behavior fascinating. Many years ago I had a 55 gal salt water tank. I had it for two years, then had a child. No time for fish, so I got rid of everything.

I am seriously considering setting up a 210 gal mixed reef tank. I am scared to death to take the plunge because I know absolutely ZERO about corals and such. I see some "tank of the month" setups and I can't believe the complexity of some systems. Some people have entire rooms set aside for filtration. I don't have room except for under my tank.

So Hi again, and I will be reading as much as possible here.

    Sincerely
    Peter

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Welcome to 3reef Peter.

Some corals, well actually a lot of corals are easier to keep than fish. Once you get the water chemistry down, have decent filtration and intense lighting it's just a simple learning curve.

Thanks for the replies. Look forward to lots of reading and learning. Can anyone point me in the direction of a local reef group?
