We made our way in to Neptunes Cove today and one thing is for sure--we will never step back in there. When we walked in it looked like they were tearing everything down and about to go out of business. Several tanks were empty, parts of the floor were tore up, the drygoods inventory was extremely low and not any employee to be found. We literally tripped over empty pop cans, food containers and some other garbage INSIDE their showroom. They had a couch and coffee table setup right in the middle of everything that looked like it came from a frat house that didn't use trash cans.

Their sink area was covered in testing equipment that was either spilled over or had most of the reagents uncapped.

It took about 5 minutes for any employee to finally show up, but we decided to look around anyways. At one point I was getting a close up of a tank and got a wiff of something rank, only to look down and a 5 gal bucket sitting right there on the floor almost full of skim.

I even asked about a certain item they had in stock on their website and two employees started arguing about it right in front of me.

I turned around and grabbed my fiancé to leave. On the way out I glanced behind the cash register and there had to of been over a thousand credit card looking receipts scattered on the shelves and the floor. Are you serious?

I feel bad even bringing up their name and I could go on and on about it--just can't believe that someone would run a shop like that. wow. wow..

Sorry to hear that, boosted. Never been there since it's way out of our way. We spent a couple of hours Saturday talking to the owner of Fish Paradise after buying a couple coral frags. Really nice guy & knows his stuff. Probably way out of the way for you though.

Sushigirl, thanks for the referral.. We'll have to make our way out there somtime. We had a full day and stopped at 5 different places, eventually ended up at Dallas North Aquarium to find it was their annual sale. 30% off all livestock and 20% off all drygoods, but we only ended up getting a few things. Picked up a couple raffle tickets and got the call this morning that we won 3rd place!

Cool that you won something in a raffle!
I haven't been to North Dallas Aquarium in years, and the few reviews I've heard lately sound like it hasn't changed much LOL.

If we're looking for livestock, we only go to Fish Paradise now. He typically has a great selection of fish & coral and he keeps his salinity at 1.025 like ours so that really helps with short acclimation time (we were talking about that Saturday). His prices are the best out of everywhere we've looked, very reasonable. Corals are mostly set up in sections by price, and you can get good sized frags for good prices. He also won't sell you a fish just to sell you a fish. He asked us our tank's size and age right off the bat when we went to buy fish.

I got a cabbage leather for $30 or $35 and I've gotten 2 zoa rocks (one very full with 3 different kinds on it and the other pink ones with 13 of them on there) for $25 each. Everywhere else around is $40+ for the same sized/kind of frags. Our 2 orbic cardinals were $9.99 each and our 2 gobies were I believe $30 each. They've had this HUGE peacock mantis for $39.99 for months and just lowered the price...can't imagine how they haven't sold it except maybe just the wrong neighborhood or something. The prices basically are comparable to online prices, minus the shipping.

For pumps and tubing and stuff we usually go to True Percula in Arlington, they're cheaper than everyone else for the same stuff.

For best selection of frozen food we go to Mid-Cities in Hurst/Euless.

We go to Fish2morow (yes, it's spelled weird...one r) in Ft. Worth just to look for an hour, then leave...great display tanks but too pricey for us.
