Boosted, tons of stores in the FTW area.

To go and be impressed, try Fish2morro...they have awesome display tanks to look at and lots of frags for sale. You can easily spend at least an hour in there just looking. Prices are high, though.

For big fish selection at great prices and good coral frags at great prices (we just bought fish there), try Fish Paradise. We bought our 4 fish & 2 pistol shrimp & some GSP there a couple weeks ago. Seriously reasonable prices, seriously huge selection.

For snails, hermits, and dry goods try Keller Farms (I think we're heading there today). They have a few corals and fish too. Prices are not high or low, just typical of any LFS. Place is cool, though, if you're into all kinds of fish. It's in an old house and is way bigger than it looks. They have a small reef room at front, dry goods at front, then brackish and fresh rooms (most of their stuff is cichlids and such), and also pond fish outside. You could spend a good hour in there too LOL. Not impressive displays but gobs of all kinds of FW fish.

There's True Percula in Arlington which has a few nice display tanks, a decent selection of fish, and quite a bit of dry goods at reasonable prices (cheaper than other places). We've been there a lot for dry goods. They have a tank that runs all natural, nothing mechanical on it, and it looks great. They also have a huge crab someone gave them that they keep in a species tank under the natural tank, and a big "pond" type reef in the middle of the floor.

There's Mid-Cities aquarium, who also have a ton of fish and corals, as well as dry goods. They had the best selection of frozen food if you're looking for something in particular (I was looking for frozen clam & they were the only ones who had it). Prices are standard. They even sold me a couple of stomatella snails eve though they weren't for sale LOL. Of course, they were 2 bucks each, but worth it to me since I have no hitchhikers.

There's Frank's Tanks, but the only thing we bought there was salt. Didn't seem to have much livestock or dry goods selection to me, but they had tons of live rock & I didn't see aiptasia all over it like everywhere else. He has a really cool "overflow" rimless tank that the water runs down the walls like those little waterfall things you buy for your house.

When we first got our tank in October, we spent a Saturday driving around to several places to get a look. You could easily make a day of it just to scout.

Mid Cities is one of the better ones in the FW area, Followed by Franks.

Sushi - sounds like you were in Franks right after he opend that store. He used to be across the street from where he is now, the store is stocked up now and I would recommend him WAY before keller farms. Hope that didnt come across the wrong way (wasnt attacking you)

Fish2morrow is pretty cool i would agree, found some really cool stuff there, going today, as well as to Franks

Not offended at all. I think we went to Frank's in November. My boyfriend had read about the place, so I know nothing about it. That might explain why our GPS was confused tho! So what does he usually have a lot of?

Keller Farms seemed to have the best selection of snails at better prices, so that's why we're going there. The 5 expensive ceriths I got from True Perc aren't cutting it anymore & I have enough hermits.

We kind of base our store visits now on what it is we're looking for in particular. I did get some strombus snails at Fish Paradise, which was very exciting since those are so hard to find & I've been looking since November, but they're tiny and don't do enough damage to our cycling algae bloom. Plus I put them in the refugium so they could breed LOL.

Franks biggest selection will be in coral, he stocks alot of the basic fish but only what he knows will sell in that week. I know him pretty well and he stocks on what he has had sucess with and he knows he wont be sittng on forever. With that said , if you are looking for somthing and do not see it, just ask and he will get it for you. He is one of the good guys that will not push something on you just to make a sale, cant say that for alot of LFS's out there

oh and yes Franks zero edge tank is pretty awsome. I used to go there sometimes just to watch him freak out when kids get too close to it and try to touch it. LOL its worth popcorn and a drink. he finally put up a barrier around it where you cant get that close anymore.

Funny you say that about Neptune's. I seem to frequent that one the most, but I was turned off the first time I went in there. I got to know the owner and now enjoy going there. Good selection of coral here, but a little questionable about the fish.

Aquatic Design is good too. I think they have the best selection of fish.

I really like the fish gallery and think the prices are decent. Often times you can bargain with the guys too. Also, they will frag a lot of stuff if you ask them.

Thanks for the info, jbb. Yeah, that tank was roped off LOL. Frank wasn't there when we went, but one of the guys said cleaning that tank was a huge pain!

Good to know about how he handles his livestock, and that he'll order. Always good to know who will order for you! There was a guy that started his own place very close to us (he helped us set up our tank), but I hear he already went out of business.
