We recently broke out our 46 gal bow front after being in storage for a couple years. Previously I've always enjoyed having various freshwater Cichlid setups. I entertained going saltwater when we moved here, but put it off because of the initial costs at the time.

Well we've decided to go for it this time and are getting very excited about having a small saltwater setup. I'd really like to have a larger corner tank, but I've decided to stick with something small for about 5 years before going bigger. We plan on having a FOWLR tank, but may add a few small soft corals down the line.

Anyways, I look forward to using the resources available here and getting to know some of you better!

Good to see a local. I live in the uptown area. What are some local shops I should be aware of? I've stopped in the Fish Gallery before and will definitely go back for a few things, but they are very proud of their inventory and their prices show it.

Dallas North Aquarium, Exotic Aquatics, Aquatic Design, and Neptures Cove but that place is really dirty! Dallas North Aquarium is really nice but everyone of their fish has ick and really high prices! Exotic Aquatics is really nice but high prices. I actually know the owner of that one. Aquatic Design i like the most! It is small and affordable. Great prices and all their live stock is in really good condition!

    Welcome to 3reef!

Aquariuman, where is Aquatic Design? We're looking for a different store to hit this weekend for some snails & some dry goods. Tons of stores over here, but each has its own special thing about it.

Thanks aquariaman, I'll check those places out.

Do either of the Petco's in Dallas, one off of Lovers and the Tollway, or the one by Whiterock Lake stock salt water fish? I remember the one in Hurst had a pretty good setup, but that's been about 4 years since I was in there

SushiGirl - what can you suggest in the Ft Worth area? That's a nice drive from Dallas but good places can be worth a little trip.

aquariaman, love how you say Dallas North Aquarium is really nice but all their fish have ick in the same sentence.

Thanks again guys for the good words
