I'm looking for some kind of off camera lighting setup along the lines of quick action indoor strobe lighting for sports and such. Not photo studio stuff for portraits. Anyone have any experience with that kind of thing on here and could recommend some good equipment.

Yeah, tripod or some other light stand in combination with some kind of wireless trigger.

This is what we use. Well, i'll be honest. Only one of them is a true Nikon. The other two are a chinese knockoff, but still very effective.

Nikon Speedlight SB-26 TTL Flash - eBay (item 320551266233 end time Jun-29-10 21:00:46 PDT)

They are all remote triggered by these little guys, then they were modified for longer range with external antennae.

WIRELESS FLASH TRIGGER For NIKON SB900 SB-600 SB-28 NEW - eBay (item 180526644319 end time Jun-29-10 19:56:41 PDT)

When it comes down to it.. any hot shoe type flash can be remote triggered. Just find a flash in your price range with the features you need. Then get a good trigger for your specific shoe.

I thought you said you didn't want like what one might have in a portrait studio? The above is just that.(anpgp- your last post)
