Excellent pics. Notice how they only bother to check out a certain shape of shell?

Thanks, I've seen it quite a few times, I think that it helps that I have a lot of empty shells in my tank for them to choose from. I had one this week go to a new shell I had just put in, then he went back to his old shell, guess the Grass isn't always greener on the other side.

I've noticed mine swap shells a bit. The only time I've seen one completely out tho was when he got stuck upside down. He crawled all the way out, flipped his shell back over and got back in... lasted about 15 seconds, he spent the better part of the rest of the day in one place... I guess it exhausted him. I'm glad to see pics tho, I never have my camera ready when I need it.

Is that a nerite shell in the first pics? I was thinking no way, mine never go for those... and then I got to the last pics.

    Very neat. Thanks for sharing.

These pics are excellant! I was at my LFS today and saw one out of its shell as I walked up to the tank. It got into a shell without checking it out but it may have been the one it was already in. Very interesting.

when you see how ugly their backside is, no wonder they adapted to living in shells. :)
