Reeflections down in morrabin. Ernie and Dave both very helpful and very competitive on price. Highly recommend them.

Update on the tank: I've got two coats of marine varnish in the "interior". Just the exterior and the hood to go! Update to do list coming later on. :)

Its just a sealant you can use on timber. Basically it prevents water from ruining the wood. In this case, salt water from seeping into the timber and rotting it out. Marine varnish is just aimed at preventing salt water compared to normal water. I'll post some pictures of what it looks like later tonight if you like ?

No generally bio balls are bad for reef tanks, great for FOWLR but not reefs. Or so goes my understanding.

    Update Time Again:
Well been a busy week, sorry about no pictures. My sister has the SLR so hopefully I'll get my hands on it this weekend.
    I've still got to:
+ Clean sand and rock, I'm dreading this. There is a sh1tload to do lol.
+ Get a few more supplies from the hardware. PCV pipe, flexi pipe and some gutter-guard for the tank to prevent jumping fish down the back of the tank.
    +Finish painting the stand/hood. About 50% done.
    +Decide on skimmer.
    +Order lights and power-heads.

    Then cycle :D

Update time again, its been about two months, very scary. However my parents and I have been busy with life. However i finally got enough free time to make some significant developments.

We purchased two custom made LED units from our LFS, for a total of 24 royal blue and 24 3W LED's. - should allow for ample lighting to do almost anything.

The painting and staining is now done, also I've done an aqua scape which i think looks pretty sweet, just got to clean the last bit of sand for the DT and sump.

The current dilemma is power heads, do i go the tunze 6085 or can I get away with a 6065.

My laptop is playing up, but expect a fair few photos in the coming days!

All thats left before water is plumbing the return pump and getting the power heads.

Before fish, mounting lights and cycle!
I'm planning on introducing a skimmer about 6months after first fish, too spread out the cost as I don't believe its essential from go live...
