    ok, as my long title suggests, I have a friend with a 120 gallon tank, 48 x 24 x 24.
He wants to get rid of his powerheads and run wavemakers. He currently has a mixed reef, his intention is to get into more SPS, but I'm sure he'll always have a mixture of corals.

From the Jaebo WP line of wavemakers (10,25,40 & 60), what would you put in this tank?

I have my idea, but I would love to hear from you folks! :goldfish:

    Thank you!!

I have two 40's in a 225 fowlr 72" and there seems to be plenty of water movement- so I would say two 40's

I would say 2 40s. they are pretty powerful powerheads. I have 2 25s in my 55 tall and it's overkill for sps. It took me a while to position and fine tune them right because it was blasting my acros to the skeleton. they have recovered since thankfully.

ok, that was going to be my recommendation as well. I feel like two wp40s on opposite sides of the tank and then opposite front to back as well.

I run on WP40 on a 60 tall. It's dialed all the way down on W1 mode, otherwise my hammers get blown to smithereens. I had to do quite of bit of messing around with rockwork and settings to get something that works in my tank. I feel like the narrowness of my tank was the biggest hurdle.

Please continue any discussion as there are so many different ways to move water in these glass boxes filled with stuff.

    Thank you again!

I have two 25's in my 48x24x18 and its almost too much, i think two 40's would be overkill

I have about 60 SPS colonies and they all do very well with just the 2 x 25's

Two WP-25's. I have two in a 60" 100G and they are perfect. I tried one WP-40 and it was way too much even at 50% speed besides being huge physically.

Here is a photo of a WP-40, Hydor Evolutions 1400/1500, WP-25 and a Hydor Nano 425 all side by side. The 40 is huge, suited for a 180 or larger tank to me.

The 25 isn't much bigger than a Nano but moves massive amounts of water. I also did a power consumption review on many of the reef forums on them and the 25 was still my choice.

Thanks all! I was really hoping to hear more about the WP25 (and I did), cause I have heard about the smaller footprint but yet the impressive flow compared to the wp40.
