I just purchased a couple new softies- an undetermined mushroom, and a zooanthid frag. Are they in a good place and how long should I wait in between purchases to add some new ones? My tank is pretty bare, good coralline, just a few fish, good water numbers for about 3 months, and I do need to get new lights.

The foxface must have wanted his picture taken- but the corals are in there!
I'd love some suggestions of some easy starter corals, I'm not looking for instant gratification size or color wise, just some starters.

Best I can tell from the pic it's either a ricordia or a frilly mushroom. There's definitely some texture to it but I can't make out a color.

I don't have a species name for the mushroom- it is green, and grows and glows and moves alot under the metal halides. I have an Aqualight pro 48" with metal halides, t5, and actinic. Bulbs are around 8-10 months old, and I was told I could get maybe a year out of the bulbs if I wanted to do coral. The angel is about a year old- I inherited the tank and contents in May. It's grown about an inch since May, and gets a little feisty with the others. I an very inexperienced with taking aquarium photos, so that one isn't the best, but the mushroom and the zooanthid both glow green. I read that the mushroom will move if it doesn't like the light, but what about the zooanthid? I've had these a week, and they open very nicely and seem to be acclimating. I was thinking I could start slowly with some easy-care softies, and then maybe move into the more interesting corals.

A guy at a local store told me the best place to put corals is in the middle of the tank and see how they adjust then go from there. You never know how much light or how deep they were raised so in the middle of the tank is best and something about the pressure. He said if they start to turn really white then they are getting too much light or brown they are getting too little. It made sense to me.
