i have both a mix of red leg and blue leg hermits from what im told by my lfs blue legs arent carnivorous to each other like the reds are. i mostly think its just for the shells that the reds do attack each other for, and i see that with my personal experiance. also the reds get bigger than the blues. As for knocking over corals, i never had that problem as long as you securely mount your frags youll be ok. they will sense if a fish or other invert is dying and will then go to town on them correct me if im wrong guys.

Seems like the only thing I can get in Australia are normal white leg hermits. Very jealous of all you americans :p.

Do y'all have online retailers? I just don't understand why AU doesn't have the variety we have when your country has some of the best reefs in the world. Although most of our Cuc specimen are Atlantic. Does your government have strict regulations on Aquarium specimen or imported animals ?

The laws on imports etc are ridiculously strict. So unless its caught here, it pretty much isn't coming. Unless its very expensive.

There are no good online retailers at all. Nothing like Live Aquaria or the like. I cant even find a single online site or LFS in the country that I can get a bottle of live copepods or the like.

I'm not sure what you can do.....I doubt if anyone from here would send hermits to you they would make it past customs even if they would survive. Is there any native hermits you know of that you could collect that are reef safe? I guess you would have to travel north though......

Do you have forums in AU similar to this?

Maybe, see if any of those members have the hermits you need or if they know where/how to get them.
