I'm doing a WC and was going to rinse out or swap my Chemi-Pure Elite and so I'm rinsing the media bag and the new bag it starts bleeding out this weird yellow color. It's kind of a reddish yellow, looks like high-iron content water if people know what that looks like.

Anyone have an idea of what this is? I haven't put the stuff in yet, and now I'm wondering if it's safe since it's giving off this weird color, thoughts? I'd really like to finish up the water change!

If you allready put the chemi-pure in the bag and rinsed(and thats when you seen the yellow stuff)it's probably just chemi-pure dust, rinse thoroughly with rodi and go ahead and put back in filter or where ever you put it.

Its normal, that's why you are to rinse every bag. It won't hurt your tank but it will be cloudy if not rinsed .
