Ohhh!  Thanks for correcting me on that. I just think that they are sooo cute. I had never even seen one until I went to the flea market last weekend.

I had originally planned on getting just one- a female. I already had her named-Splenda. (I must have been dieting that day), but then my husband told me to get two of them so I thought it would be cute to have a couples name.

I do like Ozzie and Harriet, in fact, it was the first name that we both came up with. (I still like Budi and Tuti)

Thanks for the link amcarrig! How many gliders does your friend have? I haven't seen one that tiny. Do you know how many babies can a glider have?

Stupid thing is we can't keep them as pets over here. :)

It will be fun for you when/if they start mating. Being a nocturnal animal has it's problems from a pet owners point of view.

Anyway I am sure you will get used to the screeching and hissing after a while LOL

Hi Cindy. He has 2 now I think? Unbeknownst to him, his first female was pregnant when he got her so he had 3 at one time. I believe that his glider only had one baby so I'm not sure if that's the norm or not. Once he gets back from Hawaii, I'd be more than happy to give you his contact info if you want to chat him up about the gliders :)

Thanks amcarrig, it would be fun to talk with someone about them.

JohnO why is it illegal for ya'll to have them. That is strange. Everytime those little things hiss and spit at me it scares the pants off of me. They are so loud and do it when I least expect it. I'm really getting tired of them peeing and pooping and bitting me. The female had projectile diarrehea yesterday and got it all over me. I had my husband turn her up side down for the first time so that I could get her to pee into a kleenex . She peed and peed and peed some more and then here came the diarehea. I took care of that just fine to until she got upset and it came flying at me. I think she was actually aiming for me on purpose. That little ****! The boy behaved a little better when we whiped his bottom. At least he just had lettle pellet like things that came out. The joys of motherhood!

Hey Cindy. Just drop Tom a line at [email protected] and mention my name (Annick). I'm sure that he'll really enjoy talking to you about the gliders. He won't be back until the 26th though.

Now tell me this....you have to induce...em....potty time? I don't remember Tom ever having to do that. Also, his male still hisses from time to time but his female is as tame as can be.

That's just what the girl showed me at the flea market. I guess since they are babies you can induce it just so that they pee /poop in the kleenex and not all over you when you start playing with them. They can pee and poop quite well on their own-trust me. That's why I wanted to start inducing it so they wouldn't be so messy.

They are sleeping in their little pouch right now with it hanging around my neck. Whan I go to clean the fish tank I'll put them back in the cage.

Thanks for the e-mail, I'll add him to my address book so I don't loose it.

I had to do the same once with a litter of kittens that had been abandoned and I feel for you. It ain't pretty or fun :)

Did you pick up that cage from the petstore/fleamarket? If you did, how much did you pay, if you don't mind my asking? Anything special about it that I should know? If it's not too expensive, I might buy my friend one for X-Mas! :)

    Here's the link:
    http://www.cageworks.com/cagegal.html

I got the cage from the man at the flea market. I picked the cage up at his shop when I picked up the 2 gliders. I thought he was going to give me the trades day discount on the cage but I guess they didn't. They one I got was 18x18x36" with the cooper roof. It was $185. They had one at the flea market that was the same thing but without the cooper roof for $60. That would be a great gift. I don't know anything about cages but a friend that was with me said that they were very well made and thought that was a great price. The cooper roof does look kind of cute.

Check out their website and see what you think. They build cages for just about every kind of critter.
