I am somewhat experienced in reef keeping, however, am a bit rusty having been away for 8 years or so. I am looking into starting a nano, and am determined (somewhat) in having an All-In-One, as opposed to a DIY Frankentank, as I have buit in the past. I think that I have settled on the 28g Nano cube from JBJ. If I am going this route, I need to decide between the intermediate (27W) or the pro (89w) LED package. I realize that watts are not a good measure , but that is the only consistent comparison they are providing AFAIK.

The Pro version is 25x3w@14k (120 lumen), 4x3w Actinic (33 lumen), and 2x1w Nighttime (15 lumen). The Intermediate version is 25x1w@14k, 4x.5w Actinic, and no nighttime (they don't seem to provide the lumens for the intermediate.)

My question is given my stocking desires, such as with my previous aquariums, (40B, and 75G), LPS, sofites, and clams, adding just a few stonies, is the pro not too much light? Is the intermediate not enough? I don't want to be restricted to only SPS, but I would like a few.

    Any help/guidance would be appreciated.

    Hi
If it was Me I would go for the pro package & that way you wont be limited to keeping only some corals as most LPS & SPS like light.

agreed I would definatly go with the leds. you may have to acclimate the softies for a few weeks but in the long run you will be happier IME.
