Has anyone used one of these jebo 180 skimmers? i just bought one...never had a skimmer before, but from what i understand microbubbles should not leave the skimmer but lots are returing into my tank! i have adjusted the air/water control and have the skimmer set to run in the "optimal" range(Water level at bottom of collection cup). the skimmer has only been running for 1 day i've heard they need time to break in?!? is that part of my problem?? any suggestions or mods that i can do to make the skimmer perform better? mine also doesn't seem to form a strong vortex in the reaction chamber...looks like a cloudy airbubble soup....will this improve with time?? it's probably the reason i'm getting so many microbubbles returing...if i can get this thing to work i'll post some picts of the skimmate it produces. any help appreciated!

The microbubbles are coming out of your skimmer's return and being sucked up by your pump. You either have to get the skimmer return further away from the pump, or find something to contain the bubbles. I hung a small 4" filter bag off of mine...cured the problem.

i have a jebo 180 and the optimum water level is about 1/3 up the cup - if you do the bottom of cup it might never foam right... ive had mine for a year, it works ok but has to be cleaned in the venturi part - if that venturi clogs with debri or with build up it will clog the air intake and cause the water to run into the cup big time...if your using it as a HOB then it would flood the carpet... i have to take mine apart and clean it using a toothpick when it happens. Not the best skimmer but does work if tweaked right :)

I never used that skimmer, but I would just let it break in being thats it's only one day old. I would also add a filter sock to it too. Just my 2cent
