How deep is your sand bed and how much rock are we talking about here. If your bed isn't too deep, then you can just push on the rock and wiggle it through the sand down to the bottom, doesn't stir up the sand or anything. It's what I had to do to mine when I got my goby.

Take the rock out and buy some egg crate. Place the egg crate in the sand so that is is on the bottom glass and slightly sticking out of the sand where your rocks will be. Put the rocks on top of the egg crate and your good to go.

I would pull the top rocks out and put in a bucket of water. Then take the bottom rocks and push and wiggle them down until they are sitting on the glass. Then put the rocks that were on top back in. JMO

    Exactly what I would do.

A more important question is how old is the sand. If it's less than a year it should be fine to move around a bit. Mine is going on two years and I move it with no problem.

its about 7 months old i suppose.... i would but all the cool caves happen to be on the bottom of my rocks haha so im trying to think of a structure to support them

im thinking of tarcing a rough pattern of the rockwork in egg crate and cutting it to fit leaving openings to dig

    or

laying 3? inch pvc down on its side ..sliding it under the sand and rocks ?

what do you guys think about those ideas?
