I need to know if I should pull the trigger and upgrade my Current Nova Extreme Pro 48 inch 6 bulb T5 model to the 60 inch Tek 8 bulb T5 fixture.

The Tek would be the exact length of my tank, but would be 19.5 inches wide and my tank is only 18 inches wide. Should I do it? The Tek is on sale for $500 for 1 more hour!

Its going on my 5 foot 125. Will it be okay if it overhangs about .5 inch over the front and back of the tank?

Then YES and YES, you need more WPG! I know PAR par Par, but I'd do it for a 125 no questions asked.

Sweet. I just bought it. Now I need to see if it comes with the tank mounting bracket or not. Do you guys have a recommendation for bulbs for this fixture?

You are going to get some mean bleed though. I had a 6 bulb over a 55 and had to fashion light diffuser as the tank bled light pretty bad.

What do you mean bleed through? Do you have a pic of your diffuser and how you made it? Would it be better for me to have the overlapping bulbs hang off the back of the tank since it has a blue background on the tank? Or would it be better for it to be equally distributed front and back?

I like a wide spectrum of light, 420nm, 460nm, 10k, 16.5k, maybe 20k if available. More atinic then daylight for sure.

Bleed is just the light coming out of the overlapping bulbs. Depends on the height of your stand really compared to your seating postiton. I used some commercial door trim from a hardware store. If you have a problem PM me and I will find the invoice and give you specifics. I bet you will be okay, more of a seating problem with my setup. Post some pix of this beast when you get it!
