    Hi,

I have buy a 65gallon Marineland with Cover overflow. The intake goes down to my sump, then my pump (Quit One 5000) return the water up to the tank.

I have a very loud waterfall noise from my tank, and it seem to be cause by the water going down to the corner overflow section. Does anyone can help my to reduce the noise, the tank is in my living room so I want it very quiet.

Any trick to reduce noise will be welcome.

Any trick to reduce the return pump vibration to the PVC pipe will also be welcome.

You can see my tank setup and also a video of the noise problem I have on this site: My Tank

    Thanks a lot.

I don't know how much this will help, but my overflow has a baffle that the water falls on and then flows around, it helps a lot with the "waterfall" noise. I'm not sure if its possible to get a piece of acrylic cut to fit inside your overflow, but it's just a thought

you can either widen/extend teeth on the overflow so that the water level in the over flow stays higher so less splash or put either a prefilter or some rubble in there to soften the fall of the water

Not to sure, but can you dial back your return pump just a bit to see if that helps(maybe to much flow for your over flow pipe?).. It could also be to much air getting into the durso??..are your drain pipes in the sump under the water? if so try to raise them a bit above..

Is it the mega flow overflow? Can we get pics of the set up? My mega floes on my 65 are very quiet. So maybe a pic would help figure it out.

The drain pipe are not under water they are rais out of the sump.

Raise the standpipe drain a little higher.

Any luck on getting it to quiet down?? One thing I see is you have a double 90 on top of the stand pipe, if you replace the 90 that goes down to the sump with a tee and create a vent it should quiet down the plumbing. Stick a short piece of pipe in the top of the tee and give that a shot.
