    Thank you!

I think I qualify for that title!

    Thank you!

Hi Luna, no I have not been here before, but this seems like a great place so far!

    Thank you!

Well thanks, but I think there are tons of tanks WAY better then mine. The purple and yellow corals are called Montipora, they are one of the easiest to keep, and are VERY fast growers.

Thank you! I think I will stick around. :D

Thanks Chris! When are you doing the order? I was looking at a dosing pump from there the other day.

    Thanks for the welcome!

Well, I think I should update this a little today.

    My tank went from this:

    To this:

Here is how we got there:

I think it turned out pretty good! It took me WAY longer then I thought it would, from the "brushing" to the cutting out the little squares for the endcaps to sit in. I now have 6 T5 bulbs, all overdriven from the 4 +1 non overdriven that I had before.

The bulb are the same, with the exception of the addition of the UVI 75/25 bulb. I really like the sun lifts, they allow me to raise ad lower the fixture for feeding, and for working in the tank, without having to remove the canopy. I also can SEE into the tank now when I am working, where before I had to use the room lights, and that wasn't the best, that is for sure.

The fixture will be operational for a week tomorrow, and so far no adverse reaction to the increase in light, which is a GREAT thing. I do see a change in coloration in some pieces already, they are getting DARKER or more saturated, from the pastel colors they were before. I also notice my green cap to be a more vibrant green.

Now, things that I need to change:

The fans, they are rather loud. I need to quiet them down somehow. I am thinking the addition of foam weather stripping should help, I have some in there now, but I think I need more. I am also thinking of adding a few pieces of dynamat, it is a sound deadening material used in car audio applications.

Light leakage! From my seat on the couch, one of the white bulbs seems to be hitting me right in the face! I need to block that somehow, I am thinking of a black acrylic sheet, or adding an acrylic shield to the fixture itself, so that it can sit lower without getting splashed.
