    I think SW keeping has come a long way so it's def not horrible. It all depends on the person, if you skimp with stuff or get lazy easy you may have probs. If you keep up with water changes and are responsible then you should be ok. Just remember if something goes wrong, in a smaller tank, it can foul the tank up much quicker, a larger volume of water can buffer probs a bit better.

    IMO if I started with a 29g I would have regretted not starting bigger. I want a bigger tank now because 55g got small quick. There are so many amazing fish, inverts, corals, that if you really love it you will want a lot of things. I told myself all I needed was a FOWLR and then after a few months I wanted to dabble in corals, then I wanted a reef tank, believe me, if you get bit by the SW bug you will want a reef tank eventually.

    i have a 29 gal and its awesome. it fits my coral need good. and i dont spend much on corals, but the ones i have helps fill up the space.

    You will also need test kits. ph,ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, phosphate, alkalinity just to name a few. Welcome to 3 reef too.
