Hello everyone, I am new to this site and new to the hoppy. I am currently working on my first saltwater aquarium. It is a 65gal w/ 25gal sump, it has been up and running w/ cured rock and live sand for 2 months. The lighting is 36" Aquatic Life T5. I have been watching the water fairly close and the parameters have been good. I did have a problem with algae on the glass that I would have to clean twice a day, but for the last 2 weeks it seems to be under control and the cuc has been able to keep up with it. I am trying to take it slow, but does anyone have any suggestions on what to add next?

    Living in the tank:
    2 clown
    1 lawn mower blenny
    1 diamond goby
    1 coral banded shrimp
    1 skunk cleaner shrimp
    2 peppermint shrimp
    1 sand sifting star
    1 blue linkia star
    12 snails
    12 hermit crabs
    pink spot anenome
    2 coral

    Images of my progress...

also be careful with a lawnmower blenny as they usually devour their supply of algea and can starve... also be careful with the anemone as they are usually do better in a well established tank. they can be kept in new setups but usually is difficult. also depends on the type of anemone...don't know what a pink spot anemone is but it looks like a long tenticle anemone. should check out lighting requirements for that type as they survive off light.

    welcome to 3 reef berbst

+1 on the nem remarks from me , yours has already done the trademark, walk to the back of the reef routine which is very frustrating, makes it difficult to spot feed and also deprives it of the light it needs

how many tubes in that T5 fixture?

looks good. off on the right foot.
    whats in the sump (skimmer)?
    what are you dosing/supplementing?
    how many T5s?
^^this info will help in choosing.
in terms of adding to the tank: your call on what kind of fish but since its a reef you are pretty limited to fish. maybe a wrasse, hippo, your call just make sure they are reef safe and will get along with fish. coral: you will be good with Lsp but will be hard to have SPS bc of your lighting. your right to go slow and not overwhelm bio filtration.

thats a nice looking start bh. although you didnt pick a very easy start to begin with.lol linkia's can be very tough to keep. you will have to keep your params very tight with them. or they just end up falling apart. IMO the sand sifter might be abit early for it , being newly established . it could starve also. as far as additions go, some more CUC would be good. a flasher or fairy wrasse would work well in your setup. very nice colors and peaceful. but youre off to a good start, thnx for sharing.
