Had one of these over my 44gal. corner tank for a while, not enough light for most corals.might be okay as a temperary just to light your tank for fish only. Also,if the bulbs old it could cause some unwanted algae growth,a new bulb for that fixture costs about $50.It would be better to invest in a good light if you already know you want to keep corals.

ooh ok thanks so I guess I won't buy those. what not so expensive T5 fixtures do you guys recommend ? I'm leaning more to those now since with what I've read you can do more with them as in the color of lighting. how many watts is good for a T5 fixture ? the dimensions are 38 x 27 x 22.

As an oddysea user i have to say im pretty impressed, im using a fixture thats a year old with two 175w 20k's and they are great in my 100g, i dont have many corals but the ones i do seem to be very happy =)
i got the fixture from a store used, 130$ and ordered the two 175w bulbs from aquatraders for 20 each? impressively cheap and effective, but the brand and aquatrader seem to have a pretty bad rep but i took a gamble and got a great deal.

I have used plenty setups I now only use Hamilton Lighting, great service and repair if needed, I also like magnetic ballast over electronic, you can ask the bulb companies why one would prefer magnetic ballast and you will get an ear full
