Hello From China

Hi. My names is Luc and ive been a aquariumaholic for 15 years. I come from Wales in the uk originally, and now live in Guangzhou, China. (Big move i know ) All of my tanks have previously been freshwater tanks (Community, planted and Malawi cichlids) But recently the missus and i have just bought a new house here and one of the conditions was that i was able to get a dream tank, and what better way to fulfil my "dream" than to start in the world of marine. I thought id join your forum after i read Steve wright's post on "The reef-keeping hobby in china" as thats the market i get all my fish keeping stuff from. Ive had a look around the forum and there seems alot of helpful and friendly people and alot of nice looking tanks.

Anyway....on to my new tank and the reason i love China. Its a custom made L180cm x W60cm x H90cm with hidden side overflow as the tank will be used as a room divider and be viewable from 3 sides. 160cm sump built into stand. It also comes with practically everything else needed, Lighting, pumps, skimmer etc apart from the livestock of course lol. (oh and ill prob get a UV for good measure) All of this i managed to pick up for roughly 420gbp ($690)
Oh did i mention that was including delivery and pluming and setup costs. hahah. Now you see why i love china?

I know what everyone is gonna say, and they will probably wave that little Smiley at me.............."THIS THREAD IS USELESS WITHOUT PICS!" hahah I know. i know. I think this is the hardest part of anyone in the hobby. Waiting to take delivery after placing the order! So Dont worry... as soon as i get the tank the second thing i will do is take pictures of it. (the first being probably scream like a little girl with excitement, haha)

I plan on keeping a fish only system as i dont think im up to the task (or expenses) of looking after corals yet and it seems the berlin Liverock method hasnt reached here yet :-X so i dont think ill be able to use liverock in my system either. I have a few ideas about what im gonna do about filtration/stocking but any suggestions you wanna throw at me are more than welcome. But remember....im a virgin, please dont be too rough.

welcome to 3reef luc. looks like youve got a compatriot in steve , who would help you out with alot of things regarding what you neeed and maybe otheer places to be able to get it in china. look forward to updates.
