I just got this camera a couple weeks ago. It takes great pictures! And it has most of the features of a DSLR (aperture, white balance, effects, etc.). It is also great for just a point and shoot for regular use. Macro shots are pretty good, and it also picks up all of the fluorescent colors under actinics. I'm sure there are others that will do the same, but at least this gives you a starting point.

MissPink, for a 35g & 3 berghia, it may take awhile if they survived. But if they did, you won't see ANY Aiptasia for quite some time. Aiptasia can come into your system on frags, even snail shells! I got 2 consecutive orders of 9 & 9 with 1 free on the first order & 4 free on the second. This was for a 55g & a 90g. Although it was some big-bucks, it is a small price to pay compared to losing high end pieces to some nasty nem stings.

Alright, so you can use these P&S cameras to take pics from the top of the tanks looking down into the sandbed? Thats what I'm looking for. I also want the color and all, possible? I see evryone taking pics from the front of the glass.
(I also want a Bugatti....maybe next pay day?)

I wouldn't say all P&S's...My previous camera couldn't pick up the actual colors at all. But like I said..the one I referred to above picks it all up no problem. With some playing around you'll get the hang of it.

Choose your words carefully.;) Will all point & shoots take great pictures? Certainly not. But the nicer Nikon and Canon's? For sure. Some of the Sony's also do pretty well. You just have to know what you are looking at. Top-down shots shouldn't be a problem. If colors are off, it could just be a matter of measuring your white-balance for that time/location, or you might have a crap camera.

    I like top-down shots too. :)
