Get lots of buckets for the water and rock. Drain the tank until almost all of the water is out. I would recommend using a bucket for just the fish witout any rock or aynthing else as you dont want to have something shift in transport and crush someone.

I used a BIG cooler, and buckets when moving a 29 gal tank for my son. Look around and see what you have that you can use instead of just buying buckets and such. You can also use rubbermaid containers if you have any of them. anything with a lid will work to keep the water from splashing

I just moved a 55 gallon tank 1 month or so ago. I used the large plastic tubs(24 gallon) and all went very smoothly. I also built a little dolly out of 2x4s and a piece of plywood. It helped a great deal. I was also fortunate enough to have 2 110 outlets in my truck so i ran two powerheads to keep water moving in the rock tub and fish tub.

The link in the above post was the guide I used

I did not replace the sand when I moved it. BIG MISTAKE!!! 10 days after the move I had to break the whole thing down to replace the sand. I had a Nitrate problem but after replacing the sand and all the water it dropped from 100ppm to about 20ppm. Still doing constant water changes to get them back to 0.

Good luch with your move. slow and steady and then enjoy.
