I have a new 44 breeder. Will mainly be a reef tank but will want some smaller fish that like copepods. Cant decide on fuge type. Have all the right lighting and a hang on "bak pak" protein skimmer. Did everything like was told as far a setting up. Waiting for tank to "cycle" still but still want to get all the stuff. Only have about 25 lbs live rock and 4 fish. Any suggetstions? Dont know where to shop either. Thanks

I'm not an expert on refugiums because I have never used one. So I can't answer your questions but, Places to shop; you could check out out sponsors;)
Also, I think you may eventually need some more Live rock and you say that you have four fish? How long has the tank been up and running? You really shouldn't put fish in before you finish cycle...
    BTW, Welcome to 3reef

I have one of th emedium sized ones. I don't use it anymore since I went to an under the tank fuge. I may sell it off in the classifieds here since it's just sitting there unused.

You may consider an actual planted tank sort of a fuge that you can view. These can be set up very nice.....10 or 20g plumbed loop with a pump right back into your main tank. A cheap fluoro shop light form home depot and Maxi 900 or 1200 for flow.
A hang on the back are OK, but you usually can't see whats going on back there. I'm plumbing a 30g fuge for my 120g. It'll sit on its own stand away from the main tank. I'm putting a DSB, LR, etc., and some crazy algae & critters. You'll be able to see in on all 3 sides.

Hey MTPVTEYE, another option that alot of people are doing instead of shelling out the money for an aquafuge is making their own out of a aquaclear filter. I'm making one out of an ac70 for my Aquapod 24.....you might want to mod a ac110 for your tank. Just run a search for aquaclear refugium mod on google.......Take a look.....pretty easy, works just as good and saves alot of money.
