Stop using crappy sink water and buy an rodi unit. Regular sink water is full of phosphates and everything algae loves. If you keep using it the algae will never go away no matter how much you take out. In another sense you keep throwing gas on the fire.

If your Tank paramaters are good I would focus in a couple of areas. Fist remove what you can from the tank sides, overflow, and powerheads. Next look into a new protien skimmer that is +1 rated over waht your tank needs. I also would use a product called bio fuel. It will rob the algae from taking up the nutrients that the algae needs to survive and will eventualt go away. and last I would spen about 50 to 60 $ on a phosphate reactor.

Check out this website for some good tips on your aquarium and you can see how they got rid of their algae problem and how i have been able to fix mine.
