Well I have one fish left after an ICH outbreak and I'm yelling and cursing tangs still. I wanna give up so badly cause it hasn't even been a year and I loved my clownfish! (Along with everything else but those guys especially!)

The point of this post is to ask a simple question. I can't find my little clown. I know he's dead and I ripped a small portion of rock apart and found nothing. I gotta get to world in about an hour here so I don't have time to do it all. Would a pistol shrimp have pulled my baby under its rock and started feeding or should I just keep looking later?

    Sorry for your loss. :(

One clownfish in a 75g isn't going to create enough ammonia to even worry about.

Well the one I have left is about inch and a half and the other one was smaller. Let's just say I can't find this one too. Should I be worried then? Cause if I get an ammonia spike n lose my elegance coral then I may really wanna give up

Sorry to hear of your troubles, do you have a CUC in the tank, they most likely would consume a small dead fish fairly quickly.

Oh yeah! Maybe the crabs will stop eating my snails!

I'm not sure why I used exclamation marks, I'm not excited at all

Hey RULU sooo sorry for your frustrations!!!

Tangs can be ich magnets. Also looking at your sig a 75 is right at the lower limit of size acceptible for tangs so unfortunately it's not abnormal to see ich in that situation.

I would say that yes, if your little clown has perished that there is a good chance it has been made into a meal by your pistol shrimp.

I think you will be okay with the amount of water and a pistol shrimp and CUC, but definitely do a water change when you can, and just keep up on your parameters. So sorry about your losses and I can completely relate to being frustrated in this hobby. but remember....this too shall pass. chalk it up to a learning experience and move on. Good luck

Just thinking. If/when my last fish dies, I should wait eight weeks before putting more fish in to let whatever parasite is in there die right? Can I at least buy corals if that's the case?

Are you just assuming that it was a parasite?

So sorry to hear that. Yeah, you probably want to wait at least 8 weeks. It sort of depends on what the infection is. We tend to call any white dot type of infection ich, but in reality, it could be a lot of things, hobbyists aren't good diagnosticians. Most of the things it could be will die off in 8 weeks though. Is it not possible to set up a qt tank though? If you can qt, and keep the tank fish free for 8 weeks while doing so, that would be better. Also, the good news is you should be able to add corals and keep improving your water quality while the tank is fish less. So, things should be better when you add fish again.
